The LHS River Watch students joined 3rd Graders again today, but on a field trip to the City of Lakota Water Plant. Here they got to see firsthand the process and the machinery involved in treating and then distributing clean water to city homes and businesses. This is the final installment of their project, which was to educate younger students about how water goes from "Cloud to Consumer." Special thanks goes to Mrs. Jill Wall and building principals Mr. Snyder and Mr. Preble for allowing River Watch students to coordinate these sessions. Thank you 3rd grade students for your eagerness to learn and your enthusiasm. Lastly, thank you to Josh Ulland and Joey Ross for leading the Water Plant tour, and to Amie Vasichek and Nancy Skogen at City Hall for organizing swag bags for the kids!!

High schoolers, time to get festive! Help us count down to Christmas with fun dress-up days. The class that has the highest level of participation will win a prize sponsored by Student Council!
LHS River Watch students were back to visit Mrs. Wall and 3rd Graders today at NDES! The students learned about preventing water pollution and why we use water filtration. They then made a simple filtration system to clean up dirty water using rocks and sand.

Lakota’s Academic Challenge Teams—22 students across 4 teams—attended their first meet of the season at Central Valley, competing alongside 30 other teams from across the region.
Our Varsity 1 team—Olivia Fossen, Ethan Matejcek, Paige Carlson, Levi Steffan, Brody Rainsberry, and Landon Sundeen—finished strong in 8th place!
While our other teams didn’t place in the top 10, our students demonstrated dedication, knowledge, and sportsmanship throughout the meet.
