The 7th Grade class is busy learning about taxonomic groups. Thus far in kingdom Eukarya, we have studied bacteria, fungi, and protists. We also have viruses/bacteriophages in this topic, though they are technically not assigned in a taxonomic domain as they are not classified as living organisms (did you know that??) Here are the very detailed and beautiful drawings we've done in Mrs. Ulland's Life science class. Aren't they the most gorgeous pathogens you've ever seen?!? 😅 Next up...Fungi!

Lakota HS River Watch kids attended the Fall Kickoff in EGF today 9/24! We got our project assignments for the year and did some brainstorming. We did an activity that involved pouring samples from several subwatersheds (south to north since the Red River flows north) into a large jar that symbolized the Red River Basin. We ate a ton of pizza and then spent the afternoon canoeing on Red Lake River. Smiles all around!

A competition was held during Homecoming Week and classes earned points by dressing up, winning games, and float building. Congratulations to the Junior class for winning this year's competition! A big thanks to Lakota Dairy Queen for awarding them with blizzards!

Students will have regular classes periods 1 through 4. After lunch students will line up for the parade on the east side of the High School. After the parade, all students will report to the football field for activities led by Lakota Student Council. - The Homecoming dance will be held this evening in the High School gym after the football game until midnight.
