The Lakota High School River Watch team had its first outing of the school year to collect data from our sampling sites on Thursday 8/29. Right now we are monitoring 3 different sites in Nelson County. We test for things such as: pH, turbidity, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, temperature, tape down to surface, along with observing any changes in level, vegetation, wildlife, erosion, weather and more. We compile our data into a project, and present it to judges at a forum in February. Kicking off a great year!!

Lakota FFA chapter met today to kickoff the school year! We had 16 members in attendance and enjoyed cenex pizza. Meeting consisted of group events being explained to new members as well as benefits of FFA. We received a budget update and brainstormed about possible new fundraisers. Once again thank you all for the continued support!
