Tuesday, November 26th
- Lunch today is Philly Chicken Sandwich.
- Breakfast tomorrow is Cereal and Toast.
- Sophomores and Juniors are leaving at 8:30am this morning for "Reality Check" in Tolna. They will return at around 12:30.
- There is Junior High and High School band and choir practice today in Petersburg. Junior High band will leave at 8:40am. Junior High Choir will leave at 9:40am. High School choir will leave at 12:40pm. High School band will leave at 1:40pm.
- There will be a River Watch meeting tomorrow during lunch in Mrs. Ulland's room.
- The winter music concert will take place Tuesday, December 3rd at 6pm in Petersburg.
- The Lakota High School annual derby car race will take place on December 20th in the HS gym. Students in grades 7 through 12 who would like to enter a car, please stop by the main office and pick up a block of wood and registration form. Registration is due by December 6th. Prizes will be awarded for Best of Show and Best Themed Car, along with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in the racing.
- There is no school this Thursday and Friday for Thanksgiving break.

- Breakfast tomorrow is Jelly Filled Donuts.
- Sophomores and Juniors will be attending Reality Check in Tolna tomorrow morning. Bus will leave at 8:30am and return by 12:30 for afternoon classes.

- Today is a Virtual Learning Day. Period 1 will start at 9am.
- There is no early out for staff professional development today, we will have a full virtual learning day.
- A high school virtual learning day schedule was sent through Teams chat.
- Students are expected to log in through Teams and follow the virtual learning guidelines that were also sent through Teams chat.
- There are no practices or after school activities today.

- Music fundraiser items have arrived and are located in the high school shop. Students who have not picked up their items, please go to the shop during Raider Time.

The 7th Grade US History class worked hard to re-write the Declaration of Independence, by breaking down the complicated terms and phrases. They ended class last week by printing and signing their very own copy, in cursive!


The Chemistry class just finished a lesson on ionic and metallic bonding. Today in lab, we examined the metallic properties of 7 samples of elements: Aluminum, Zinc, Sulfur, Magnesium, Copper, Silicon, and Carbon. We tested color, luster, conductivity, malleability, etc. We then related these properties to their position on the Periodic Table of Elements and how they would react when chemically bonding with other elements.

Order up! Life skills students are learning to cook. They researched their nutritional needs, made a meal plan based on their specific needs and then chose one of the meals to make for the class. There were some tried and true recipes like spaghetti, caesar salad, and chicken wraps and some new ones like chicken sandwich's with homemade BBQ sauce, garlic parmesan noodles, and a beef broccoli dish. Overall bellies were full and students were happy!

- Students attending the e-sports event tomorrow in Harvey, the Dakota Prairie bus will be in Lakota at 8:30am to pick you up.

The multimedia class is learning about green screen video production. They have written scripts, acted out the scenes and will produce their first murder mystery comedy "The Night Slasher". We can't wait to show you the final product!
